: (1) The work, duties and powers of the National Commission for Women shall be as follows:-
(a) To formulate policies and programs related to the rights and interests of women and submit them to the Government of Nepal for implementation,
(b) monitoring the implementation of the law related to women's rights or the obligations under the international treaty or agreement to which Nepal is a party and giving suggestions to the Government of Nepal along with effective compliance or implementation measures,
(c) To review, monitor and evaluate the existing policies and programs to include women in the mainstream of national development and to ensure their proportional participation in all agencies of the state and recommend to the Government of Nepal for their effective implementation,
(d) To study and research the legal system related to gender equality, women empowerment and women and make recommendations to the relevant agencies regarding the reforms to be done in such laws and monitor them,
(e) To give suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the preparation of the report to be sent by Nepal in accordance with the provisions in the international treaty or agreement to which Nepal is a party related to women's rights,
(f) If there is a need to file a case against any person or organization regarding the victimization of women's violence or social injustice or the denial or deprivation of women's rights, to recommend to the relevant agency to file a case in court in accordance with the law.
(2) The National Women's Commission may delegate any of its functions, duties and powers to the Chairman of the Commission, any member or any employee of the Government of Nepal to use and comply with the prescribed conditions.
(3) Other functions, duties, rights and other provisions of the National Commission for Women shall be in accordance with the federal law.
